Leadpages

Leadpages is an online tool for building landing pages and websites with higher conversion rates. The main goal when using Leadpages is to collect email addresses for your newsletter or sales funnel.

This tool makes it easier to do things like build webpages, collect the email addresses, make changes to your pages to become more successful when you drive traffic to the page.

There are additional things this page builder can be used for. You could also create pop-up forms and alert bars.

This means that if you already have a website, you could use Leadpages to get more leads. If you don’t have a website, you could use Leadpages to create a website focused on conversions.

The primary focus is on capturing contact information and building your list of leads.

You can build your pages with a drag and drop page builder and ready made templates. The templates are mobile-friendly. Their templates are known for loading quickly and being SEO-friendly.

You don’t need to know how to code to use Leadages, however if you know HTML, you do have the option to do that yourself.

While you can build websites and landing pages and host them on their server, there is a WordPress plugin if you wish to host your pages on your own hosting. This tool is also compatible with Drupal, Squarespace, Weebly, Wix, and Joomla.

They have many other integration options and sites they are compatible with. This includes many ecommerce options, like Shopify, PPC platforms, like Facebook Ads and Google AdWords, payment platforms, like Paypal and Stripe, and analytics tools like Google Analytics.

As email capture is the main goal here, it’s important to note that this tool is compatible with most of the most common email service providers. Services like Mailchimp, AWeber, and Constant Contact all have integrations to add the users you convert automatically to your email list.

You will need to pair Leadpages with an email service provider.

With landing pages, you can create various pages for different goals.

You could create…

  • Opt-in or lead capture pages
  • Sales pages
  • Pages with video – could be used to create a video training series
  • Thank you pages

You can also do things like host Webinars on their pages using tools like WebinarJar or GoToWebinar.

An important feature when building landing pages for capturing email addresses is A/B testing for your opt-in forms and landing pages, which Leadpages does have in its advanced user plans, but it’s important to note this feature isn’t in their Basic plan.

When we look at Leadpages vs ClickFunnels, we see many of the same features listed above are also part of the other online tool. For most users, the decision between these established options is ultimately about the needs of their business.

As we continue on to take a closer look at your other option, you will see that ClickFunnels has a more robust offering of features.

Both of these online tools are excellent at what they do.

Leadpages is a great option for capturing email addresses and if that’s all you’re after, Leadpages may be the most cost effective option for your business and all you need to accomplish your goals.

ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels, similar to Leadpages, is also a tool for building landing pages with higher conversion rates. This is an excellent online tool for collecting email addresses for your mailing list.

It includes a suite of tools for varying ways you can improve your results and get the conversion rates your business needs from your landing pages.

Like Leadpages, ClickFunnels has a drag and drop page builder. Both tools have made this fairly simple, though it’s worth noting that this feature is more well-designed on ClickFunnels.

Both tools have mobile responsive templates that load quickly and are designed with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind. There are many templates available, opt-in form options, and you have the ability to host a webinar.

Another feature with ClickFunnels is A/B testing, which is a great way to test different opt-in forms, templates, headings, images, and every other element of your page until you get the best conversion rate.

One of the main reasons to use a tool like this is to improve, and the best way to figure that out is through analytics and A/B testing, so this is an important feature for any landing page tool.

They also offer a suite of integrations. Many of the integrations between these two products will overlap. You will be able to integrate with the major email provider services, like Mailchimp, AWeber, ConstantContact, and Drip.

You can add in shopping cart software to your page. Some of the many applications you can use with this tool include Sendland, ClickBank, Ontraport, and Infusionsoft.

Now, let’s look at what is unique to ClickFunnels.

It makes sense to begin with the heart of what is special about this tool, which is their tool for building sales funnels. You can custom build your own customer funnel, or use of their six pre-built ones with templates included. You could be one funnel away from reaching success.

See, one of the major things to stand out when we put Leadpages vs ClickFunnels, is that the first tool is just for capturing leads, while ClickFunnels is a tool for capturing and then nurturing those leads.

It’s one tool to be used for bringing people in, capturing their email address, and then also leading them down your funnel to turn them into customers.

Some of the features to help you do this include smart email sequencing and full funnel conversion view in your analytics. This last part means that you will be able to see where customers drop off in your funnel.

Once you know where you are losing your customers, you can employ strategies to help improve your conversions.

Again, both of these are great tools. It may be that you are already using other analytics and online tools for your business that work better for you, so choosing a tool that only builds landing pages that convert is the better strategy for your business.

However, if you don’t have the features ClickFunnels offers in place, it’s worth considering if you may use these features in your business

Other helpful features unique with this tool include the ability to replicate the entire sales funnel, the ability to switch up the sequence of events in your funnels, email autoresponder software, and upsell pages.

Businesses with membership sites will want to compare Leadpages vs ClickFunnels for the membership site capabilities. This is another feature unique to ClickFunnels and may be a surprise to some, as its a very robust feature.

With this tool, you can run your membership site, complete with member metrics. If you’re running a membership site, this means you’ll have the entire customer experience, from capturing the lead through the sale and then through their activity as a member, recorded in one place.

Again, these are features you may be using other tools for. The choice between these two products is really down to how you are structuring and running the unique needs of your business.

When it comes to choosing the right marketing software for your business, the decision can be tough. Hopefully, you now know enough about each platform to make a choice.

If your focus is on landing pages and website conversions, Leadpages could be right for you.

If your focus is more on sales funnels, then ClickFunnels may be a better option.

Leadpages can be used for sales funnels as well when you pair it with an email service provider. The difference is you must know how to organize the sales funnel.

With ClickFunnels, it guides you through that process with proven techniques.

When it comes to choosing a software…

Sometimes, you choose one and that software meets or exceeds your needs.

Other times, you try a software and it doesn’t meet your needs. You learn and then you search and find a software that fits your goals.

Since both software come with free 14 day trials, you can test one (or both) for free.

I doubt you will be disappointed with either choice.
